Reflections of my Inner Self

January 27th, 2009

I was just in the kitchen a moment ago and looked out the window to see Lydia swinging by herself on the swing set. She never spoke to anyone, she barely looked around. She was quiet, no smile, no frown, just contentedness on her face. You can could tell her mind was off in some far away realm of thought. She swung by herself for several minutes, and she may still be there, she was when I walked away. She wasn’t lonely or disappointed at all by her circumstances, she was just content and happy that she was swinging. That is my Lydia, and that is how I was as a girl, and still am. We love people, we love spending time with them, but we are just as happy to have a few moments to simply lose ourselves in thought and enjoy the peacefulness of singularity.
