Frog-uh Festival

Our church participated in a fall festival here in a local town, selling crafts and candied apples. I’m not sure why, but it’s called the Frog Festival. We planned and talked about it for weeks, and the girls were excited about it. Eliana kept saying “Frog-uh” Festival. Then they come home from Chris’ church last week talking about a birthday party for one of the girls that goes to his church. So Chris took the two older girls to the party, and on my shift to help at the booth, Debra watched Chloe. No girls at the Froguh festival!

We didn’t sell very many craft, but we did have a lot of fun. They did get to stop in for a few minutes. Chloe came with Debra at the end to help take everything home, and Chris and the girls made it in for about 5 minutes.

After Debra, Amanda, and I finished loading everything up, we walked through the few remaining booths, and it was nothing but oohs and ahhs since Deb and Amanda hadn’t been through yet. All the cute clothes and crafts were so tempting. Debra found one boutique that she’s going to order an outfit for Ethan from, and she bought a cute red gingham dress for Chloe from another boutique.

One lady was closing shop, but still had her face painting stuff out. She painted a daisy on one of Chloe’s cheeks, and a heart on the other, and didn’t charge us. Chloe never flinched, and really didn’t realize what had happened. When Chris got there with the other two, they both screamed to have theirs done. By that time, we were close to someone different doing it. We waited and waited, but it was taking too long, so we promised them next time. Lydia was okay with that, but Eliana whined the rest of the night, wanting her face painted. She didn’t just talk about it, she gave her best pout and whined, like she was sick with hunger, or wanted to stay up late. I’m not sure why it was so important to her, but it was truly pitiful.

It was fun!!! After asking around most that set up a booth said they didn’t do well either. Except for food booths. That we all helped!!! Next year we are going for the food!!! Still we got a lot of good ideas. BUT next year if we have to be there at six in the morning, I’m taking the late shift!!!! Did my tour of duty in 2007 !! But it is good advertisement for the church.

The note boards Tammy made are so cute…… she did real good…….. She’s so much like her mom, crafty, crafty, crafty. I mean that in the way of making things ! . You’d have to ask Chris about the other way. HAHA…

I had made some flower arrangements A man came by and asked could he take a picture of one , I said certainly. He laid right down in the middle of the street. Later I was told, he was with the local paper. Flower did sell, But I will be more excited if the picture is in the paper! I have never done flower arrangements till this past Memorial day. Did several and I shocked my own self. A few have sold here and there. But for the most part I want to keep them all. every time I do a craft and it looks good, I want to keep them.. BUT I DON”T.. accept for a few here and there.

Hey, we are going to do this again, and if you have any neat ideas let us have them, only give tammy the hard ones, and the me the simple ones……….
